Brand Identity – TV Dietingen

The gymnastics club of Dietingen (Baden-Württemberg/South of Germany) asked me for a whole new corporate look. I developed a complete brand identity for them.

Booklet – Windows phone 7 booklet

The windows phone 7 booklet is a project of Steffen Mitschelen and I. As a big fan of the Windows Phone 7, when we first faced this project our aim was to simulate the navigation and apps of a Windows Phone 7 on paper, taking the digital experience to a printing media support. I adapted the look & feel of this operative system, its applications and the UI to make a booklet with them.

POLE – Project Oriented Learning Environment 2013

Two times a year we have the possibility to work on a project called “POLE” (The Project Oriented Learning Environment). POLE is a platform used by students of several international universities which goal is to create a network focused on a particular subject while working all together besides the cultural and language borders. (source pole-project.com) This year’s project was "Catch Up!, a project in cooperation with the "Neue Züricher Zeitung". The main task was based on helping users to track the news on digital newspapers. In order to accomplish it our group developed a new, innovative and responsive web design for them. (The Group was about 6 people and I was the one responsible for the concept and the full design.)

Bachelor project – Digital Magazines

The magazine as a medium has a special status since the very beginning. The content and the physical appearance testify the high value. The task with the digitization is clear; keeping this valence. But this is easier said than done. The changing requirements of our permanent changing society are getting more and more and imped the development of the magazine into the digital era. But the digitization also offers possibilities to solve these problems. This project shows a possible example of a digital magazine.

Image processing - Encounter of the 3rd kind

"Encounter of the 3rd kind” is an experimental photography project. Tina Di Leo was responsible for the setting while I shot the pictures and edited them afterwards.

Webdesign – Konsortium Haldematt

As a freelancer hired by w3-Studio I designed a website for the real estate agency Konsortium Haldematt: Merker Liegenschaften AG | RMK AG. This real state agency is specialized on creating high standard living resorts, but always keeping in mind the ecologic part that surrounds it, never letting it fallen behind. Go and visit their website.

Mobile Application - daycrun.ch

While working as an intern at i4ds I had the chance to develop the concept and design a mobile application for "daycrun.ch". This mobile application is about searching, having also the chance to book, conference rooms or working places.

Interactive Guestbook - Museum Rietberg

An interactive guestbook on a touch screen was supposed to be developed for the exhibition "Eduard von der Heydts - Von Buddha bis Picasso" of Museum Rietberg. While my internship as a designer and developer for i4ds I had the responsibility to work on this particular project. We set two different possibilities to interact with the installation. First, you are able to browse through the guestbook from the front to the back and secondly, we give you the opportunity to check which famous persons have written into it by simply clicking on the portrait at the right side.

Animismus - The Migthy Owl

The mighty owl is an animism project by Sarah Bindszus and I. It is a website on which the user is able to talk with an old “allmighty shamanistic owl”. Thanks to its wisdom, the owl is able to give you advices for every possible situation (if he feels in the mood to). The illustrations were developed by Sarah Bindszus and it was programmed by me.

Augmented Reality – Freeze

Freeze is a gamification project that works to fight against the pedestrians crossing the street when the traffic light is red. It works like a game: When the user arrives to the cross road he finds a regular traffic light with a screen on it. In this screen the pedestrian can actually see the cars driving on the road and, by pressing the buzzer next to him, he can not only stop the traffic in order to be able to cross the street, but also with the help of an ice beam, he can frozen the cars and get to the other side earlier.

Hi

My name is Kevin. I am a 34 year old designer from Stuttgart (Germany). I made my degree as media-designer focused on printing and classic media advertising. After that, I build up my formation by studying interface design at the Merz-Akademie Stuttgart, approaching the digital part of design and interactive media. To deepen my theoretical background, I´ve researched the impact of design and how to improve it by accomplishing my masters degree. Currently I´m working as a "Director UX/UI Design" at Kaiser X Labs – A company of Allianz in Stuttgart. If you think we can work together, feel free to contact me.
